CLASSROOM POINTS

  • Come Prepared: Bring all required materials. This includes your math binder, paper, pencils, AR book, and homework assignments.
  • Revisions: Most of us rarely do our best work the first time around, revisions will be necessary. These revisions have the purpose to help you understand your mistakes, as well as, to help you find the correct answer. This will ultimately improve your understanding. You may revise completed assignments as often as needed, within a two week limit. Each assignment will have a correction deadline based on its due date.
  • Missing Assignments: If you fail to turn in an assignment, or turn in an incomplete assignment, you will complete a no homework form that will be e-mailed to a parent or guardian. This is to keep your parents informed.
  • Binders: This is an accumulation of the lessons taught, everything we do belongs in this binder. This is a useful tool that you can refer to for homework help and test preparation. This is a quarterly grade, and each quarter the total possible points earned increases.
  • 100% Papers: If you receive an A+ on an assignment on your first attempt you will receive a reward. This is to encourage you to put your best effort into the assignment the first time.
  • Need Help?: I make myself available before school and during morning recess. These are the times to seek out homework questions. I highly encourage you to ask questions, during class or one-on-one, this will improve mathematical understanding. For more help, I have provided videos related to lessons being taught on your classs page above.
  • Late Work: Papers not turned in on time will have the following penalties:
1 Day Late: 95% of grade received on assignment
2 Days Late: 90% of grade received on assignment
3 Days Late: 85% of grade received on assignment
4 Days Late: 80% of grade received on assignment

After 4 days the assignment will receive a 0 and will no
                            longer be accepted

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Picture

Hello everyone! My name is Alicia Eisenhauer and I am the middle school math teacher here at Tamaroa Grade School. I am thrilled to work in the school where I grew up and I am so grateful to have, what I believe as, the best job in the world. I have worked with all age levels and I love coming to work each day. I am excited to work with you and get to know each and every one of you better.

MY EDUCATION
I attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale where I received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in middle school mathematics. I did a year of student teaching in a fifth grade classroom at Lewis Elementary in Carbondale's District #95. I was a substitute teacher for two years in various school districts, a long-term substitute at Woodlawn as a middle school math teacher, and I have also taken part in a 3 year ISTEM grant specializing in mathematics.

MY INTERESTS
I am the mother of two amazing children! I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. I am the head coach for the girls basketball team, which is my favorite sport. Math is my favorite subject and I enjoy helping students see the beauty of finding the answers hidden within mathematics.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My beliefs are short and simple, I believe that if someone is willing to do something or learn or grow then everyone can succeed, everyone can grow. It is my goal to show my students that they too can accomplish anything they set their mind to, and to help guide them along that path.
